Well-Being RESOURCES
Support for you and your team during challenging times
If you are a business owner, manager, leader, or have people working with you AND feeling uncertain as to how to support them during this challenging period, recall your role as a leader and manager.
Reflect on what it is that you have done so far in addressing the what, why and how of each of the three components: 1. WHAT - Gain clarity and understanding of the situation and challenges 2. WHY - Investigate the triggers and drivers 3. HOW - Brainstorm and strategise ways to address needs and challenges Then, focus on the execution and delivery |
In challenging times, running a business and driving goals gets a lot harder. The pressure to improve results and/or to survive increases tremendously, and there becomes a tendency for business owners, managers and leaders to focus too much on the task.
Zooming out from the perspective of the business owner, manager and leader, our individual team members too face their own stresses, which could be triggered by many possible things including the new work demands placed on them. Every individual is unique and may have different needs. And if these individual needs are not addressed, it may affect things on the team level or the task. Navigating these challenging times can be really emotionally and mentally draining. When there is so much anxiety and uncertainty, we need to balance them out with psychological safety and positivity. Emotions drive behavior, so as business owners, managers and leaders, it is then important for us to take a step back so as to move forward. Take time to focus on the social, emotional and psychological needs of your people, and also take time to self-care. |
