how to play


Step 1:
  • ​Find people to connect with. Recommended size = 5-6 people
  • One person to volunteer as Gardener
    • Capture the team's story as it develops
    • Set the context and intention and to share the Growthbeans Garden rules​

Context:
In "Team Stories", we invite everyone to bring no titles as we share and contribute. Let us connect and support one another to create. In the process, we might discover more about ourselves and others.

Growthbeans Garden rules:
  • Reserve judgement (be open and curious, Let your imagination flow!)
  • Be inclusive (embrace all possibilities)
  • Respect all
  • Help others be self-aware (Support one another)
  • Come as strangers and leave as friends
  • Learn, share, grow! And have fun! 

Step 2: 
  • Number yourselves from 1 to 5/6.

​Step 3: Getting into the swing of things
  • Then refresh the page to get your first set of random images.
  • Invite everyone to share their thoughts and feelings on the main image / pick an image from the smaller images below to share.

Now, there are two different ways to continue this and we leave it to you to decide on your team's preference

Step 4A: 
  • Refresh the page again to generate a new set of images.
  • Person #1 to create the first / first few sentences of a story based on the main image. If he/she can't find inspiration from this main image, he/she may pick a replacement image from the smaller images below.
  • Repeat Step 4 until everyone has had a turn to contribute and until a team has a story they are satisfied with.
  • Everyone is encouraged to build on each other's story, manage the ambiguity and see where this takes you to.

Step 4B: 
  • Refresh the page once to generate a new set of images. The team will use this set of images to create a story together
  • The team can discuss all the images and brainstorm how the story will flow. 

Step 5:
  • As the story unfolds, Gardener to read out your team's story to the group
  • In the spirit of sharing and learning, Gardener to invite everyone to share any reflection and appreciation they have for the activity
  • Gardener to post the story in the link, to share it with the greater community.
