Resilience Starts With Self-Awareness:
What 321 Healthcare Workers Told Us

A note before we start: the healthcare institution in this story asked not to be named, and we're respecting that.
Every statistic and quote here comes directly from workshop feedback collected across 12 cohorts and 321 participants.
Healthcare staff carry a particular kind of weight. Long shifts, high-stakes decisions, and patients who need more than a rushed few minutes all add up. When leadership at this institution came to Growthbeans, they weren't looking for another wellness poster or a one-off talk. They wanted something practical and human that could build resilience in individuals while also strengthening the connections between them.
What we ran
Across multiple departments, we delivered a workshop called Resilience Begins with Self-Awareness. The premise is simple: you can't manage your stress if you don't understand where it comes from. Sessions walked staff through their own emotional responses, gave them language for what they were coping with, and built habits that could actually hold up during a demanding week, not just in a quiet training room.
What changed
The feedback numbers were consistent across all 12 cohorts, which matters more than any single high score. Over 90% of participants said they were clearer on what builds their resilience, more aware of how they cope under stress, and more conscious of what's actually within their control to change. Almost as many recognised the value of asking for support rather than pushing through alone, and of learning from how their colleagues handle the same pressures.
The numbers translated into something staff could feel: stronger emotional self-awareness, a real sense of safety in the room, and coping skills they could actually carry back to the ward. Support-seeking rose too, with a noticeably higher willingness to check in on and support one another across every cohort.
