Three experiences in our lives helped us to realize the key elements of well-being. These elements do not discriminate and everyone of all ages need them. We have experienced the ups and downs in our lives and we realized it is these three elements that make a difference. It has become our imperative to bring these elements to the world to enhance the well-being of all.
FIND VALUE BEYOND JOB TITLES
At a mentoring session, our mentee shared she had just left her job of many years to set up a company. She was frustrated because she did not have a name card yet. At networking events, she did not know how to introduce herself. That hit us. “How would you know how to introduce yourself when you retire?” we asked.
She looked at us with a new realization on her face - she had gotten stuck in titles.
We need to recognize that while our jobs and titles can give us a sense of accomplishment, it is not what defines us. It is not the only value we offer to others.
DEVELOP MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIP
If our well-being and fulfillment are closely linked to work and productivity, then there must be an added ingredient(s) to support individuals with spinal cord injuries who will not be able to regain the same level of productivity again. When we spoke to the psychologist, she told us "First deal with their depression. Then help them find meaningful relationships. "
We have found that meaningful relationships is really the key ingredient for everyone regardless of age and differences.
“If life was ideal for you, how would you describe it?” we asked. “Happy” the 16-year old girl said, as big fat tears rolled down her cheeks. Unhappy for 8 years, family stressors in her life had caused her health and a downward spiral. “I know it is bad, but I had a boyfriend once and he was very good because he listened.” she said.
We gave her a listening ear and helped her to take ownership of her health and happiness. Everyone needs a non-judgmental sounding board.
the growthbeans way
1. Deepen Self Awareness
Creating our future starts the moment we pause to reflect on our perceived self, projected self and ideal self.
How self-aware are we? How aware are we of our gaps?
How self-aware are we? How aware are we of our gaps?
- As individuals looking for our career direction in the knowledge-based economy, it requires a protean career attitude - someone who is values driven and self-directed. Do you know your values? Do you know what you are looking for?
- As leaders and managers looking for ways to enhance one's management skills, it requires higher levels of Emotional Intelligence - self-awareness and others awareness. Are you aware of your gaps?
we guide you to reconnect with Yourself
Through 1-1 coaching or our Growthbeans workshops, we support you to explore and deepen self-awareness to uncover your personal values.
we support you to Identify the gaps
With our coaching methodology, we work with you to identify your blind-spots and gaps so that you can take targeted steps to achieve your end goals.
2. Build Relationships
There is only so much that we can do on our own. In an increasingly agile world, collaboration is key. The starting point of collaboration is to be able to build relationships. How might we foster the right ecosystem for our collective growth and future?
- As individuals, we all want the same thing - to belong and to be valued. This is fundamental for our well-being. Do you have the relationships to support you in and outside of work?
- As colleagues, we all want to succeed in what we do. This is another key element to our sense of happiness. Do you collaborate with others to win together?
we create safe spaces for you
Through group coaching and building a learning culture, we help you build a safe community for any individual to grow and develop together with open feedback or for any team to work together to excel.
We facilitate Discussions
Depending on your objectives, we work with you to facilitate open discussions. Working with and through others will expand perspectives, alignment and encourage innovation to create the change and growth.
3. Sustain the change
Change does not happen in a vacuum. It requires support and discipline embedded in good structures and processes. What will keep us accountable?
